14 DAYS...

Started in 2004, the first few tracks we're recorded with a Tascam 4 track recorder and a laptop. The intensions were to make an album with only voice and acoustic guitars, but it didn't happen! Thus, recording got complicated and a new computer was bought.

As the first solo writing experience of Ian it soon became apparent that what seemed like'good songs' could become what seemed like 'really good songs' with the collaboration of Lara. Two years later, 14 Days was finished.

Although not an entirely voice/guitar album, we wanted to stay away from the sounds and methods of our 'electro' pasts. Partly because it didn't seem relevant anymore, partly because it didn't interest us anymore, partly because it ties you down a bit, but most importantly because we wanted to do something that seemed ..' band with instruments'... Human!

Lyrically, it's very personal and almost all of it speaks of the period between 1998 and 2002 (See biography) when Ian lived alone in a small, damp, one roomed house.... And thought... Lots! It's all true you know. There really is a river , train tracks, and a life that repeated itself every 14 days. It all served!.

The underlying theme of the all songs though.. Is hope.

Thus came 13 songs, 47 odd minutes of music which has reminded others of Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, The Eels, Beck, Simon and Garfunkel, Turin Brakes, Blur, Crosby Stills and Nash to name a few.

For us maybe there's a bit of all of that, even if we discovered some of them after our disc. What we feel is that even if the style isn't unique, the personality is... And for the first time ever in our alter ego life as musicians, satisfied that we'd created an album which represented us and merits 'something' from start to finish.
